Cape ann camp site

Cape Ann Camp Site is located 30 miles northeast of Boston in the historic city of Gloucester. Established in 1949, Cape Ann Camp Site is a family owned and operated business built on the knowledge that the vacation is only as good as its destination — and you really can’t get any better than this small fishing village on the coast of Massachusetts.
Unlike many campgrounds in business today, Cape Ann Camp Site was established around nature, not over it. Therefore, each of its 200 plus sites are unique. Whether you have an RV and would like a full hookup site with a water view or you have a simple tent and love the shade, Cape Ann Camp Site has a spot for you, your family and your pet. Every wooded site comes with a ready-made fireplace and picnic table. We also have six toilet and shower buildings, and a small campsite store stocked with ice and wood. We offer Wi-Fi on ALL sites with hookups and some non-hookup sites.

Gloucester, the jewel of cape ann

Gloucester,
the jewel of
cape ann

Gloucester, the jewel of Cape Ann, is both America’s Fishing Port and the Whale Watch Capital of the World. Avid historians and weary vacationers are equally charmed by its antiquity and its beauty. If sun-bathing on one of our many white-sand beaches wears you out, visit beautiful Rockport for a day of shopping or take a boat trip around the harbor. If you have a few days, hunt for buried treasures in the local antique shops or take the kids to Salem for a good old-fashioned witch trial. Gloucester offers a number of fun and educational attractions and Cape Ann Camp Site is in the center of it all.

What our campers say

Great view, Quiet, Kid-friendly, Great value

Beautiful campground across from the bay with docks. Lovely view. Easy to find and get to. The staff here are wonderful. They have anything you'll need at their store, not ridiculously overpriced. Tons to do and see in the area- both sightseeing and relaxing. They'll give you a book at check in. The sites here are spaced well. Bathrooms close to each site. Coin operated showers in at least one. Each bathroom has a dishwashing station and a water pump for drinking water. There is a dump station, but we had no need for it. Water and electricity are available at most sites. Pet friendly- if leashed and well behaved. This place is a gem- we will be back.

the staff is amazing!

We come here every year. The staff are amazing and always accommodating. The camp store is pretty well stocked with decent selection, and we love the ice cream!

Worth every dollar! Extended our stay Twice!

Cape Ann was worth every dollar. With the local amenities (Wingaersheek Beach, the boat launch across the street, and access to downtown Gloucester/the historic Cape Ann area), there were plenty of things to do during our stay. In addition to local attractions, the campground itself was a great place to enjoy time with large fire pits; gender-inclusive, semi-outdoor showers with hot water and good pressure; clean restroom facilities/dish-washing stations; beautiful cliff-side views; accessible water spigots; and friendly, accommodating staff. We camped in a tent site tucked away in a corner and had privacy and ample options as to where to pitch our tent (we have a compact backpacking tent, so all of the sites seemed huge to us!). The picnic table was in good condition, and there was plenty of kindling around (and some medium-sized wood to keep the fire going to cook dinner). We originally booked the site for 3 nights, but were enjoying our stay so much that we extended our stay twice with no issues.
